Overview:  The best way to combat the ever-evolving cybersecurity threat landscape is to make it a perpetual conversation. This meeting will look at the current threats and the evolution of ransomware, as well as the supporting legislation and international data privacy laws.

Discussion Recap:
Maria Thompson, State Chief Risk Officer for the State of North Carolina began the conversation with a presentation on the current threat landscape, which included an update on the evolution of ransomware and the NC Department of IT's 'Whole of State' apporach. It ended with an overview of organizational partnerships and current legislation that all organizations should familiarized themselves with.

Rob Van Arnam, IP Attorney for Williams Mullen, continued the discussion with an update on data privacy law. His briefing covered GDPR, CCPA and CRPA. It also included an overview on what organizations should do to reamain in compliance.
