Student Benefits Overview
Mentoring ProgramStudents attending regional universities have the opportunity to engage in a one-on-one mentoring relationship with an experienced technology executive. Our technology executive volunteers representing a broad range of expertise from companies across this region enjoy developing relationships with high potential students looking for a head start in their career.
Based on feedback from students who have participated in this mentoring program, the primary benefits are:
1. Inside perspectives on the key factors involved in hiring decisions
2. Input and collaboration in polishing resumes and interviewing techniques
3. Facilitated introductions to key technology leaders in the region that can facilitate your career
We are confident that this process will emphasize the value of personal relationships and networking in launching and navigating your career. The TTEC mentoring programs provides a unique opportunity to initiate relationships directly with technology leaders in the region. It's a great addition to the valuable education you are attaining from the university.
Once you apply, the Director of TTEC Education programs will review your career objectives and match you with a mentor suited for your specific objectives. We have a limited number of executive mentors and will do our best to connect you with an available executive. Although the mentoring programs are coordinated with the scholastic year, we find that relationships initiated in this program last well beyond the formal mentoring period.
If you are interested in applying for this program, simply click on "Apply for Membership" and select "Student". You will be directed through the registration process.
THERE IS NO FEE FOR THE TTEC STUDENT MEMBERSHIP.
The Triangle Technology Executives Council (TTEC) is sponsoring two annual scholarships for students in the N.C. Research Triangle region colleges, universities and technical schools who are pursuing an IT-related career. TTEC (www.ncttec.net) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the economic development of technology companies in the Triangle through collaboration among leaders in the management community. There will be an annual award of a first place scholarship of $6,000 and a second place award of $4,000. The awards are to be paid directly to the students’ educational institution to cover their tuition, room and board, and books.
This is an opportunity for students to be recognized as high performers prior to graduation and the launch of their professional career. In the competitive field of IT, the TTEC scholarship program exposes your accomplishments to the entire community of technology executives across the region. TTEC will assign you an executive sponsor to facilitate your application and allow you to begin building the network that will be essential in your pursuit of a suitable career launching point.
The TTEC scholarship program also contributes to the community by highlighting the value of intern programs at local companies. Our recognition of high performers will help retain these outstanding students through full employment in our region. Everyone benefits from this scholarship program.
