The Triangle
Technology Executives Council (TTEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to the economic development of technology companies in the Research
Triangle region of North Carolina through the education and collaboration among
leaders in the management community. We also partner with local
universities and the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) to extend
our shared expertise to aspiring students and technology ventures. Our mission is to facilitate the success of
our member executives through education and collaboration. We also contribute
to the continued growth of business in the community by utilizing the

TTEC is pleased to announce this year’s scholarship program:
TTEC Innovation Scholarship! Awards of
$6,000 and $4,000 will be awarded on June 1st to the students with
the proposal judged to be most innovative use of technology.
Guidelines for completing application: The applicant must be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year degree program or a graduate-level degree program in a NC school in the fall of 2012. High school seniors are encouraged to apply. Non-profit North Carolina based universities and colleges and many community colleges will qualify. If the applicant
has any questions on whether their institution or degree qualifies; please
contact TTEC at the below email address.
There is no GPA requirement but a transcript – official or unofficial –
is required for submission. Applicable technologies used in innovative solution are those that fall into the categories of Software or Information Technology (IT). This would include, but not limited to:
- any software application, new, extended, integrated or repurposed,
- integration and/or use of IT infrastructure and systems, at the box level, not the circuitry level
- mobile computing and the use of wireless
Technologies not applicable are those in the areas of molecular, chemical, biological, electronic circuitry, nano, mechanical or the like. Would you like to apply for this

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: March 15, 2012.

Application form explanations:
- Intended Major. Please put the major you
intend – at this time - to get your degree in.
- Expected Graduation Date. Please put the date you
expect to graduate from the program.
- Transcript. Please upload an official
or unofficial transcript from your current institution.
- Academic Recommendation. Please upload a
recommendation from a school administrator or professor/teacher on your
academic capabilities.
- Innovation Proposal. Please upload a proposal (Minimum:
1 page; Maximum: 5 pages) with the following content:
- Problem definition – what is your innovation solving?
- Clear discussion on how your innovation will solve the problem
(This is your "idea”).
- Details of the steps you have taken thus far to prove the idea
- Career Aspirations. Tell us in 500 words or
less what your career aspirations are.
Applications will be reviewed by an
impartial committee and finalists will be selected for presentations to the
TTEC Education and Scholarship Committee and members of the TTEC Board of
Directors. Notifications will occur on
or around March 15th and presentations will be in April. A personal presentation in April
to the committee is a requirement for the scholarship award.
TTEC reserves the right to not award either of the scholarships if we
receive fewer than 5 applications.
Certain limitations apply to this scholarship:
- The
scholarship amount will be capped at the cost of attendance determined
by the school you are attending. This will include tuition, books, and
fees as required by the College or University.
- A
student who is also receiving a full scholarship from their university
or college is not eligible for the award. The student will need to
attest to this fact before receiving any funds.
- If
the student leaves a NC college mid-year and does not re-enroll in
another NC college, they will forfeit the second half of the award.
- The scholarship will be distributed in two payments: July 1 for Fall semester and Dec 1 for Spring Semester.
- Family members may apply for regular TTEC members. Only family members of the TTEC Board members are ineligible.
- While
it is our full intent to award all scholarships, TTEC reserves the
right to offer all or none of the scholarships based on the quality of
the applications
