Mr. Kramer has over 25 years of experience in both entrepreneurial and established environments. In September 2009, he joined Hosted Solutions as VP, Technology, responsible for overseeing the Architecture and Product Strategy across the entire organization. His previous assignment was Senior Vice President, Engineering and Technology Operations for Lulu.com. Under his direction, the Engineering team delivered a number of critical E-Commerce system enhancements, greatly improved delivery speed and quality, and revamped the underlying site architecture while dealing with record traffic levels.

Prior to Lulu, he worked for Motricity and its predecessor company, Pinpoint Networks, starting out as the VP of Engineering and Operations and most recently leading the Architecture and Technology group. He has been a driving force in the technical development and roll out of the Fuel platform to a number of key mobile operators, including the MediaMall platform for AT&T.

Previously, Mr. Kramer was the Director of Software Development at Engage. While at Engage, he developed and managed the delivery of highly scalable, multi-platform ad serving solutions for key customers such as CNET, Microsoft, and Travelocity. Prior to Engage, he worked for 16 years with IBM in a number of key technical and managerial capacities, ultimately as Senior Software Development Manager in the Tivoli Systems Division managing an organization responsible for delivery of Tivoli’s suite of Application Management Products.

Mr. Kramer has an outstanding track record of driving technology teams to deliver products and services that solve key business problems. His key areas of interest and focus are mobile solutions and services, highly available and scalable architectures in a multi-platform environment, virtualization, and improving the software development lifecycle. He holds one US patent and numerous IBM technical disclosures, and received a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from North Dakota State University. (Back)

Chuck Musciano is the Chief Information Officer for Martin Marietta Materials, a $2.2B producer of construction aggregates. Mr. Musciano is responsible for leveraging his company’s information infrastructure to provide significant competitive advantage across a broad range of business activities.

Prior to joining Martin Marietta in January 2005, Mr. Musciano provided executive-level strategic consulting to a broad range of clients throughout the East Coast. In his role as a trusted strategic advisor, Mr. Musciano guided his clients to identify lapses in their IT management and infrastructure and provided appropriate solutions to remedy those lapses.

From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Musciano served as CIO of the American Kennel Club. During this time, he architected the AKC’s transition from a legacy mainframe system to a client/server web-based computing environment. Using this platform, the AKC was able to re-engineer all of its principal business processes, reducing costs and increasing customer services as a result

Mr. Musciano began his computing career in 1982 with Harris Corporation, enjoying a variety of roles during his 15 year tenure there. He has written compilers, developed user interfaces, designed multiprocessors, developed shared Unix data centers, and was fortunate enough to be a part of the seminal development of the ARPANet and Internet.

Mr. Musciano is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the author of O’Reilly’s "HTML: The Definitive Guide” and his blog, The Effective CIO (www.effectivecio.com), regularly addresses the challenges facing IT executives. He resides in Cary, NC with his wife and children. (Back)

Mr. Crites is the President & CEO of AuctionBlox Inc. With over 25 years leadership experience in the development and management of information systems and related infrastructure functions. He relocated to North Carolina in 2000 to support the start-up of an electronic commerce business for Rockwell International and was subsequently hired as the VP & CIO at RTI International. In this role, he was responsible for developing and implementing a coordinated information technology strategy, including policies, procedures, and standards that supported RTI’s mission and vision. Mr. Crites was also directly responsible for managing internal IT infrastructure services organization providing telecommunications, information security and computing services, and corporate business systems.

His most recent engagement was as the President & CEO of MCNC Grid Computing and Network Services in the Research Triangle Park. MCNC has developed and operated the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN) in collaboration with the University of North Carolina’s 16 campuses.

Mr. Crites is a business-focused Information Technology manager with a proven track record of helping companies optimize and advance IT infrastructure, business systems and related processes. Experience includes the development of long-term business goals, related strategies, IT Governance, implementation and ongoing quality management. Justyn advises technology and emerging growth companies at all stages of development across a range of industries, including software, e-commerce, video games and development, networking, advanced materials, clean-tech, alternative energy, medical devices, biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals. Justyn joined Hutchison Law Group after practicing in the Waltham office of Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP, a national venture law firm. Most recently as the Vice President of Engineering for ChannelAdvisor, Ralph Kasuba guided the company’s corporate growth via product development, quality assurance, data center operations, facilities and their international expansion. Prior to ChannelAdvisor, Ralph was the Vice President of Operations at CBS MarketWatch, a subsidiary of Dow Jones & Company. Prior to joining CBS MarketWatch, Ralph was the Director of Information Technology at Broadcom Corporation. Ralph has also held executive level positions at Rockwell International and Charles Industries.

Sid Mitchener is a partner at VACO Raleigh, LLC, where he is part of the core management team that manages new business opportunities in addition to day-to-day operational responsibilities. One of the top producers in the information technology (IT) division, Sid has spent the last five years assisting in the launch of the technology division at VACO offices in Raleigh and Richmond, Va.

Sid has more than 14 years of recruiting and sales management experience in the fields of engineering, IT staffing and consulting, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Virginia Military Institute. Prior to joining VACO, he spent seven years with a $3 billion, privately held technical consulting and placement firm, where he established offices in Knoxville, Tenn., and Atlanta for the contract engineering division.

 
Sid consistently achieved President’s Club sales levels, and both new offices were recognized in the top fifth percent of sales growth for the firm. He later worked as a producing branch manager developing the IT consulting and placement division with an S&P 500 staffing firm in Raleigh. Sid joined forces with David Rhode in 2004 and co-established the Raleigh office of VACO.

Sid donates his time to the Membership and Ambassador committee for the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and serves on the board of directors for Triangle Technology Executive Council (TTEC) as director of public relations. An active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Raleigh, he has also participated in the Tour de Cure charity bike ride benefiting the American Diabetes Association. (Back)

Tony Verdone                                                      Top

Mr. Verdone has over 30 years experience in information technology. He has worked for CBS, Inc. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust (now JP Morgan). As a consultant he had assignments with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NY, The State Department, Mobil Oil and International Nickel. He also was an adjunct professor, teaching classes for the computer science department at various colleges. His technology background includes IBM Mainframes and AS/400 systems, and Microsoft Technologies.

Currently, Mr. Verdone is Vice President of Development and Operations at MediClick, Inc, a SaaS provider of Materials Management and Financial Systems for Healthcare Organizations. He was part of the management team that successfully transitioned MediClick from a traditional software company to a Software as a Service provider. MediClick currently has over 200 healthcare organizations and 10,000 users accessing its hosting site for materials management and financial applications. Mr. Verdone is also responsible for the operational component of the applications executing at Savvis, utilizing blade servers and SAN storage.

 
He has worked in the Triangle area over 20 years with Global Software and MediClick and has an extensive background in successfully managing IT teams. Mr. Verdone is currently working with the Carolina SaaS User Group in forming a Triangle component. (Back)

Craig Stone                                                         Top

Craig focuses his attention on the day-to-management of HireNetworks and Campbell & James Executive Search, offering executive, strategic hiring services including on-site and on demand recruiting to emerging and high-growth companies and career management for individuals in the specialty skill areas of IT, professional, and life sciences.

Before founding HireNetworks in April of 2001, Craig spent three years as VP/COO of the DC-based recruiting firm Edgesource. Prior to this, he spent six years serving IBM in several roles including analyst, software sales consultant and manager of the company’s mobile and wireless group. Craig has four children and played college and professional tennis. He has an Accounting degree from Elon University.

Mr. Stone has modeled HireNetworks after the emerging growth companies that make up its client list. As regional investor, Mr. Stone stays engaged in the entrepreneurial experience with the value of his network. Mr. Stone is a member of the Atlantis Group angel fund, Southern Capital Ventures, and is an active member on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Band Together and the Raleigh Racquet Club. ##

Susan Kellogg                                                 Top
CIO and Associate Dean of IT - Kenan-Flagler Business School

 


Susan Kellogg is Chief Information Officer and Associate Dean of Information Technology at The University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill, NC. She works collaboratively with university leaders to determine the technology strategies that support research and teaching and is responsible for all aspects of technology at the business school, including educational media, student systems, collaboration, information management, networks, staff/student desktop support and industry-standard levels of service.
 
Susan is a technology strategist with more than 20 years of experience across all areas of technology. Prior to joining the business school in 2003, Susan worked for Progress Energy as a manager and technology architect creating the corporate technology strategy with the company’s chief technologist and managing many major infrastructure components of this Fortune-500 company.
 
Her previous experience included several roles of increasing responsibility with GlaxoSmithKline (formerly GlaxoWellcome) where she also co-chaired an international committee on corporate Internet standards. Early in her career, Susan worked in military technology, gaining broad experience in technology standards and security.

Susan earned a BS in Computer Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Colorado.
With over 20 years of experience in IT, Susan Kellogg brings not only an understanding of a broad range of technology but also management issues. Currently the CIO for the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Susan manages all areas of infrastructure, service development and educational technologies for the school. A focus on customer impact, business opportunities, overall results and organizational collaboration contributes to Susan's strategic orientation.(Back)

Todd Bolon                                                               Top

In 2010, Todd Bolon became LabCorp's Vice President of Development. Todd was named vice president and chief information officer in 2006 for Railinc. He lead Railinc's information technology team, overseeing all IT activities at the company including data management, applications development, messaging, infrastructure and architecture. Bolon joined Railinc in 2003.

Bolon has 20 years experience in management and information technology, more than half with leading transportation sector companies. His positions included chief technology officer of GE Rail Services, managing director of Applications Development for Trans World Airlines, and senior project manager at Sea-Land Service, Inc., a subsidiary of CSX Inc.

Bolon earned a bachelor's degree in commerce with concentrations in management information systems and finance from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He is involved with the North Carolina Technology Association and volunteers regularly with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.

John most recently served as Chief Customer Officer for software start-up Kineticsware, a Microsoft Gold Dynamics AX Partner. He was a CIO and Technology advisor to his SMB market clients and was responsible for all Services revenue and Post Sales activities where he closed, implemented the first $6M in revenue and 15 customers. Previously, John served as a VP, CIO at HanesBrands, a Sara Lee spin-off and $4B manufacturer, multi-channel retailer of Champion and Hanes Apparel. He was instrumental in creating a 5-year strategic, IT transformational plan consolidating 550 legacy applications into 1 worldwide company platform and establishing IT operational best practices.

Prior to Hanesbrands, John was CTO at Tangram Enterprise Solutions, an Asset Management and Security Software Company, and EVP Operations for Plurimus Corporation, a venture funded startup and "SaaS” pioneer in the Internet Intelligence space. John led company-wide technology, operations, product strategy, technology acquisitions and securing capital. Plurimus & Tangram were acquired respectively in 2001, 2003. Earlier in his career, John helped to conceive and develop i2 Technologies Supply Chain enterprise optimization software at Compaq, led BDM Technologies’ European office (now Red Prairie) and developed manufacturing solutions for Ford Motors Electronic businesses at Cimflex Teknowledge.

Peter Asmar is Associate State Superintendent and Chief Information Officer for the Department of Public Instruction. He joined DPI in 2006 after a 30 year career in the private sector. Peter brings a global operational perspective to this role from his career in financial services and technology for JPMorganChase, Credit Suisse, International Paper Company and United Parcel Service where he served as chief operating officer, program director and chief financial officer for technology divisions.

Peter has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Brooklyn College of the City University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology. In his role as Associate Superintendent and Chief Information Officer, He also serves on the Board of Directors for MCNC providing the research and education network that support all levels of education throughout the state.

Most recently Ms. Bright Doiron joined IGC Management in Cheyenne, Wyoming in a consulting role as Executive Vice President – restructuring the company overseeing land development and construction of affordable housing in multiple communities throughout Wyoming. Prior to IGC, Ms. Bright Doiron was the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Development for Intervolve. Under her direction, Ms. Bright Doiron was successful in the turnaround of Intervolve’s product quality, radically improving customer satisfaction through a strong partnership with the customer base, and providing technology direction to the company.

Prior to Intervolve, she worked with Peopleclick as Senior Director of Product Development leading the platform level redesign of the company’s SaaS offering for Recuiting Management Software for Fortune 100 companies. Other key roles include Executive level positions within Alcatel Canada, most notably Assistant Vice President of Central Hardware Engineering where she lead a 200 person software and hardware engineering organization in the design, development, and maintenance of products supporting 5 Business Units across multiple locations in Canada, U.S., Belgium, and France. Within her 14 years with Nortel Networks, she held numerous executive positions including Director of CDMA New Product Introduction, Director IDC Technology Development responsible for rebuilding Nortel’s relationships within Japan, and Director DMS-100 Development & Evolution, leading a 160 person development team providing software development, software support, and architectural consulting services for markets worldwide.

She holds a Bacholer of Science in Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Sid Mitchener is a partner at VACO Raleigh, LLC, where he is part of the core management team that manages new business opportunities in addition to day-to-day operational responsibilities. One of the top producers in the information technology (IT) division, Sid has spent the last five years assisting in the launch of the technology division at VACO offices in Raleigh and Richmond, Va.

Sid has more than 14 years of recruiting and sales management experience in the fields of engineering, IT staffing and consulting, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Virginia Military Institute. Prior to joining VACO, he spent seven years with a $3 billion, privately held technical consulting and placement firm, where he established offices in Knoxville, Tenn., and Atlanta for the contract engineering division.

 
Sid consistently achieved President’s Club sales levels, and both new offices were recognized in the top fifth percent of sales growth for the firm. He later worked as a producing branch manager developing the IT consulting and placement division with an S&P 500 staffing firm in Raleigh. Sid joined forces with David Rhode in 2004 and co-established the Raleigh office of VACO.

Sid donates his time to the Membership and Ambassador committee for the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and serves on the board of directors for Triangle Technology Executive Council (TTEC) as director of public relations. Mr. Verdone has over 30 years experience in information technology. He has worked for CBS, Inc. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust (now JP Morgan). As a consultant he had assignments with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NY, The State Department, Mobil Oil and International Nickel. He also was an adjunct professor, teaching classes for the computer science department at various colleges. His technology background includes IBM Mainframes and AS/400 systems, and Microsoft Technologies.

Currently, Mr. Verdone is Vice President of Development and Operations at MediClick, Inc, a SaaS provider of Materials Management and Financial Systems for Healthcare Organizations. He was part of the management team that successfully transitioned MediClick from a traditional software company to a Software as a Service provider. MediClick currently has over 200 healthcare organizations and 10,000 users accessing its hosting site for materials management and financial applications. Mr. Verdone is also responsible for the operational component of the applications executing at Savvis, utilizing blade servers and SAN storage.

 
He has worked in the Triangle area over 20 years with Global Software and MediClick and has an extensive background in successfully managing IT teams. Mr. Verdone is currently working with the Carolina SaaS User Group in forming a Triangle component. (Back)

Before founding HireNetworks in April of 2001, Craig spent three years as VP/COO of the DC-based recruiting firm Edgesource. Prior to this, he spent six years serving IBM in several roles including analyst, software sales consultant and manager of the company’s mobile and wireless group. Craig has four children and played college and professional tennis. He has an Accounting degree from Elon University.

As regional investor, Mr. Stone stays engaged in the entrepreneurial experience with the value of his network. Susan Kellogg is Chief Information Officer and Associate Dean of Information Technology at The University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill, NC. She works collaboratively with university leaders to determine the technology strategies that support research and teaching and is responsible for all aspects of technology at the business school, including educational media, student systems, collaboration, information management, networks, staff/student desktop support and industry-standard levels of service.
 
Susan is a technology strategist with more than 20 years of experience across all areas of technology. Prior to joining the business school in 2003, Susan worked for Progress Energy as a manager and technology architect creating the corporate technology strategy with the company’s chief technologist and managing many major infrastructure components of this Fortune-500 company.
 
Her previous experience included several roles of increasing responsibility with GlaxoSmithKline (formerly GlaxoWellcome) where she also co-chaired an international committee on corporate Internet standards. Early in her career, Susan worked in military technology, gaining broad experience in technology standards and security.

Susan earned a BS in Computer Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Colorado.
With over 20 years of experience in IT, Susan Kellogg brings not only an understanding of a broad range of technology but also management issues. Currently the CIO for the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Susan manages all areas of infrastructure, service development and educational technologies for the school. In 2010, Todd Bolon became LabCorp's Vice President of Client Products and Connectivity. Todd was named vice president and chief information officer in 2006 for Railinc. He lead Railinc's information technology team, overseeing all IT activities at the company including data management, applications development, messaging, infrastructure and architecture. Bolon joined Railinc in 2003.

Bolon has 20 years experience in management and information technology, more than half with leading transportation sector companies. His positions included chief technology officer of GE Rail Services, managing director of Applications Development for Trans World Airlines, and senior project manager at Sea-Land Service, Inc., a subsidiary of CSX Inc.

Bolon earned a bachelor's degree in commerce with concentrations in management information systems and finance from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He is involved with the North Carolina Technology Association and volunteers regularly with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.

Prior to Intervolve, she worked with Peopleclick as Senior Director of Product Development leading the platform level redesign of the company’s SaaS offering for Recuiting Management Software for Fortune 100 companies. Other key roles include Executive level positions within Alcatel Canada, most notably Assistant Vice President of Central Hardware Engineering where she lead a 200 person software and hardware engineering organization in the design, development, and maintenance of products supporting 5 Business Units across multiple locations in Canada, U.S., Belgium, and France. Within her 14 years with Nortel Networks, she held numerous executive positions including Director of CDMA New Product Introduction, Director IDC Technology Development responsible for rebuilding Nortel’s relationships within Japan, and Director DMS-100 Development & Evolution, leading a 160 person development team providing software development, software support, and architectural consulting services for markets worldwide.
